Jigs and Lures, by Reina María Rodríguez

Translation and commentary by Kristin Dykstra

Reina María Rodríguez tempers light with shadow, drawing haunting images out of the bright everyday streets of Havana.

Jigs and Lures, a bilingual edition, collects a set of her interlocking poems that showcase an important stage of the writer’s career, in the early 2000s.

Kristin Dykstra’s translations were supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
